The platform facilitates transparent, standardized and cost-effective freight quote procurement and shipping management services

FreightCrate Technologies, a Mumbai based logistics technology company, has launched the first of its kind online logistics marketplace, www.freightcrate.in for international freight and shipping needs of exporters and importers. The brain child of two international freight and logistics experts, www.freightcrate.in is the first of the many products to be launched by FreightCrate Technologies that aim to transform the Indian logistics industry through organised, transparent, cost effective solutions and mutually beneficial growth opportunities for vendors and customers.
While the Indian logistics industry continues to witness growth due to the rise in retail, e-commerce and manufacturing sectors, the industry still remains largely fragmented, creating bottlenecks in the growth of the economy. The most pressing challenge faced by the industry today is insufficient integration of transport networks and high cost of logistics that is impacting the competitiveness of Indian companies in the domestic and global markets. Furthermore, small businesses looking for freight and shipping services continue to face numerous hurdles on a day to day basis, including incomplete or delayed quotations, high rates, tedious and lengthy negotiations, dealing with multiple logistics service providers for different modes of transport, lack of information to make accurate and timely decisions, delayed shipment updates, which consequently results in increased logistics expenditure and loss of revenue to businesses.
The Indian logistics providers and international freight forwarders, on the other hand, are faced with a separate set of challenges, which include lack of transparency in the won/ loss analysis, high fixed costs for market penetration and decreasing sales volumes and margins.

With a vision to address these challenges and to create a trust-worthy and standardised ecosystem, that is supportive to growth of all stakeholders, FreightCrate Technologies was created by two passionate professionals in the field of Logistics and freight management, Mr Samir Lambay and Ms Ruchi Dogra. Based out of Mumbai, the company is headed by Mr Lambay, the Co-founder and CEO, who holds an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, London, UK and a First Class Honours in BSc in Finance from Lancaster University, Lancaster, UK, and has worked with several multinationals and Fortune 100 companies. Ms Dogra is Co-founder and Director, Sales & Marketing and brings over 15 years of rich experience in the Logistics and supply chain industry, driving strategy, sales, operations and customer service for top Indian and multinational accounts, including several Fortune 100 companies. Together, they announced the launch of their first product, the integrated web platform, www.freightcrate.in – a new age, online marketplace designed to integrate logistics service providers and offer consumers a single platform to procure standardised online freight quotes  freight quotes at competitive prices and manage shipments online.

Speaking about their venture, Mr Samir Lambay, Co-Founder and CEO, FreightCrate Technologies, said, “With integrated online platforms catering to retail, travel, hospitality and healthcare, India is now ready for an e-marketplace for the logistics segment.
