At a trade event on June 17, 2017, Gateway Rail flagged off a train with 90 TEUs from ICD-Sahnewal to Pipavav Port in Gujarat. This will be a scheduled Saturday weekly service from the ICD to the port. This Saturday service will offer faster evacuation and better connectivity of export containers to Pipavav.
The flagging off ceremony was graced by Customs officers; representatives of Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd – Mr Nilesh Dattani (CBU-Head), Mr Rajiv Bhaskar (GM-Commercial), Mr Shailesh Modha (RSM-NCR), Mr Jatinder Monga (RSM-North); representatives of shipping lines, representatives of CHAs and forwarders; and Gateway Rail representatives—Mr Lalit Lahori (AVP), Major (Retd) Jyoti Joshi Mitter (GM), Mr Hemant (GM), Mr Rajan Sahore (AGM) and Mr Bhavuk Bhalla (Senior Manager).
