Dr August Oetker KG and Maersk Line A/S on March 14 signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement for the sale of the ownership of the former’s Hamburg Süd and all its affiliates, including the main business assets (vessels and containers), to Maersk Line.
In the coming weeks, the agreement will be reviewed and authorised by the respective Supervisory Boards and Shareholder Assemblies, between the end of April/mid-May. Subject to approval by the competent regulatory bodies, the closing may take place at the end of this year.
On December 1, 2016, Dr August Oetker KG had announced that it will, after 80 years, divest from its shipping interests and sell the ownership of Hamburg Süd and all its affiliates, including the main business assets (vessels and containers), to Maersk Line A/S, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
