[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mangalore’s wait for the last mile four-lane connectivity to Mangaluru International Airport at Kenjar will be over soon. This is essential to avoid the bottleneck posed by the existing two-lane bridge. The state government has set aside Rs 50 crore in this year’s budget for construction of a 2.5-km stretch from Marakada, where Mangalore City Corporation limits end, to the international airport. Incidentally, the present four-lane road from Kadri Hills junction to the MIA ends at Marakada. The 2.5-km stretch, a two-lane carriageway is remaining part of the four-laning endeavour. Part of the Mangaluru-Athrady state highway, MCC has already four-laned a stretch of this road up to Marakada under the ASIDE scheme of the Union government.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
