R. Ravi Kumar takes charge as the new Secretary-General of IPPTA

Indian Private Ports & Terminals Association (IPPTA) has announced the appointment of Mr R. Ravi Kumar as the new Secretary-General of the Association. He replaces Capt. Ashok Bhattacharjee.

Mr Ravi Kumar has spent over 40 years in the maritime and port industry, having worked with various public and private entities like the Ministry of Shipping, JNPT, VCTPL and the J. M. Baxi Corporate Office. He brings with him vast experience and knowledge, specifically on public-private partnership projects and port policy.

IPPTA members have welcomed Mr Ravi Kumar and thanked Capt. Bhattacharjee for his valuable contribution to IPPTA and wished him all the success in his future endeavours.

IPPTA is the apex body that represents the interests of the private ports and terminals throughout India. It is the role of IPPTA, which includes many of the private terminals, to represent the views of its members to the government, regulatory bodies, other industry associations and stakeholders who have an interest in this vital industry. IPPTA works with all stakeholders to identify ways in which the industry can best serve the interests of India’s fast-growing economy and to ensure that private ports and terminals play a major role in developing the country’s industrial and logistics policies, said a release.
