Simatech adds Visakhapatnam call to its FME service

2nd gateway port on the East Coast

Simatech, a renowned name in the feeder industry, marked the maiden call of its FME service to Visakhapatnam Port with a welcoming ceremony for the Tianjin Bridge on November 21, 2017 at the Visakha Container Terminal (VCT).

The occasion saw representatives from Simatech present a memento to the Captain and crew of the vessel, welcoming them on their maiden call at Visakhapatnam. Mr Sushil Mulchandani, COO, Visakha Container Terminal, along with the team also visited the vessel and presented mementoes on behalf of VCTPL, welcoming the service to Visakhapatnam.

Simatech already has the CCG service (Gulf service) operating ex Visakhapatnam and, with the addition of the FME service, it strengthens Simatech’s commitment to the trade on the East Coast of India

This direct, weekly mainline service facilitates enhanced worldwide coverage connecting Visakhapatnam and its hinterland to the key markets of Korea, China, the Philippines and South-East Asia, offering onward connections to other worldwide destinations in Africa, Europe and America.

The FME service comprises 6 x 5,000/5,700-TEU vessels operating on a fixed-day, weekly rotation, as follows: Busan – Qingdao – Shanghai – Shekou – Singapore – Port Klang – Chennai – Visakhapatnam – Port Klang – Singapore – Manila – Busan

Simatech operates 2 vessels (Tianjin Bridge and Sino Bridge) on this service, with the other partners contributing 1 vessel each.

The 2nd Simatech operated vessel, Sino Bridge, is due to make her maiden call at Visakhapatnam on December 19, 2017.
