Teamglobal Logistics acquires Chandra CFS in Chennai

The Indian logistics industry is expanding on multiple dimensions, be it creation of new sophisticated logistics infrastructure or the use of technology. The management of Teamglobal Logistics is excited to play an active role in this environment and has announced the conclusion of its transaction to acquire 100 per cent shares of Chandra CFS and Terminal Operators Pvt. Ltd, Chennai.

As per a release, the acquisition of Chandra CFS from its parent company Gateway Distriparks Ltd is now complete and Teamglobal Logistics has acquired all its assets and people along with operating customer contracts. The business henceforth will operate under the Globicon Terminals brand with Mr Vivek Kele and Mr Nityam Khosla being the new Directors of the reconstituted Board. Globicon Terminals, Chennai, operated by Chandra CFS and Terminal Operators, with its strategic location offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen and expand its services in South India and will certainly complement the presence of Teamglobal Logistics in the multiple segments that it operates, the release emphasised.

Teamglobal Logistics, established in 2005, is an integrated logistics service provider with 18 offices across India and international presence in Kenya, Tanzania and Bangladesh. Its services cover segments like Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Project Cargo, Coastal Shipping, Transportation, Equipment Leasing and CFS Operations.

At present, the CFS activity is carried out at the port of Nhava Sheva and hinterland location of Hyderabad. The brand establishes itself through its highly acclaimed leaders and professionals, who are continuously pursuing the company’s growth vision, the state-of-art infrastructure and rigorous digital initiatives. “This acquisition adds a scalable business model, enriched with critical knowhow and expertise in the logistics domain. It also reiterates our commitment to growth and ensures maximum outreach across the untapped geographies,” said Mr Vivek Kele.

“With an estimated annual handling capacity of 60,000 TEUs, the Chandra CFS facility will cater to sophisticated export and import cargo handling activities and will reinforce the position of Teamglobal in the Chennai market. We strive to make customer experience the central element to everything that we do, and this will also remain a focal point for Chandra CFS operations in Chennai,” shared Mr Nityam Khosla.

In the New Year 2020, Teamglobal will continue to dedicate best of its services to all its customers and also to achieve the key milestones in terms of growth and market share. The accomplishments for the year at Chandra CFS will not only be techno-advanced but will also be environmentally responsible, the release highlighted. “We plan to augment the infrastructure, creating green and intelligent building, adoption of advanced technology, fully compliant facility in terms of safety and security, designated areas of operations and well-defined systems,” the Directors added.
