TOLIC Meeting held at Mormugao Port Trust

The first meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), South Goa for the year 2019-2020 was held on 8th May 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at MPT Guest House, Headland Sada under the aegis of Mormugao Port Trust.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar, IAS, Chairman, TOLIC, South Goa and Chairman, Mormugao Port Trust. The function was also graced by Dr. Sunita Yadav, Dy. Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, DIG Himanshu Nautiyal, District Commander, District Headquarters Coast Guard  no. 11 (Goa) and Shri Gagan Malik, Director, Airport Authority of India.

Heads and representatives of various Central Govt. Offices, Banks, and Public Sector Undertakings  located in and around Vasco also attended the meeting.

In his welcome address, Capt Manoj Joshi, Chairman, TOLIC Sub-Committee and Deputy Conservator, Mormugao Port Trust while stressing the importance of Hindi language expressed that Hindi is a rich and varied language and there should be no hesitation in its usage.

Smt. Nilam Kenkre,  Member  Secretary, TOLIC, South Goa and Hindi officer,  Mormugao  Port Trust co-ordinated the meeting and presented the  Agenda items  for discussions.

Dr. Sunita Yadav, Dy. Director (Implementation) , Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India stressed upon the directives of Parliamentary Committee on Official Language and emphasised that it is mandatory that Heads of the Offices attend the TOLIC meeting and also urged for opting  registration for  submitting  quarterly reports online.   She also reviewed the quarterly reports received from various offices and provided guidance for solving different problems in Hindi implementation.

The fourth issue of Hindi Magazine of TOLIC,  South Goa  entitled “ Vasco Rashmi” and the third issue of Annual Hindi Magazine of Mormugao Port Trust entitled “Goem  Port Darpan“  were released on this occasion at the hands of Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar, IAS.

The prizes to the winners of various competitions organised by Member Offices viz. Mormugao Port Trust, Goa Shipyard Ltd. , NCPAOR  and Airport Authority of India under the auspices of TOLIC, South Goa were also distributed at the hands of dignitaries present.
