Abu Dhabi Customs has launched an updated version of the goods clearance service – as its first developed customs service – supporting the Abu Dhabi Program for Effortless Customer Experience.

The updated service aims to enhance user experience by reducing the effort and time required to complete necessary procedures to clear goods arriving in Abu Dhabi, supporting the global trade movement and the ease of doing business in the emirate.

The updated service, which is available through the TAMM platform, reduces the number of steps in the process from 13 to two, with some data being filled automatically, depending on the type of shipment.

For the first time the service is available to individuals as well as companies and has expanded to accept electronic identity certification from outside of the UAE, enhancing the service and expanding it internationally, with the service previously only being available to companies inside the country with a valid Emirates ID.

Abu Dhabi Customs has updated the goods clearance service to improve customer experience in line with the best international standards in the field. Individuals, the business community, and companies can benefit from the enhanced service and release goods upon entering or leaving customs ports.

The service covers goods that are imported for commercial purposes, personal entry, clearance import and temporary entry of goods or commodities that are to be exported and re-exported, as well as goods that are in transit through the emirate and between free zones in the country, other emirates or neighbouring countries.
