Adani Ports commissions Inland Container Depot at Malur

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has commissioned its new Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Malur near Bengaluru, marking a major expansion of its hinterland logistics footprint in South India. The facility was inaugurated in the presence of over 250 customers, trade partners, and industry stakeholders.

Strategically located on the Bengaluru–Chennai railway main line near Malur station, the ICD is equipped with an exclusive rail siding and seamless road connectivity through NE7 and NH44. This positioning enables efficient cargo evacuation and faster multimodal movement between industrial clusters and gateway ports.

The Malur ICD offers direct and reliable connectivity to key east and west coast ports, including Adani Kattupalli, Ennore, Vizhinjam, Chennai, and JNPT, providing exporters and importers with greater routing flexibility and reduced transit times.

Spread across 30 acres, with an additional 21 acres reserved for future expansion, the facility features advanced terminal and gate operating systems, real-time digital control towers, integrated warehousing, and on-site customs clearance—designed to support high cargo volumes and future growth.

Located close to Karnataka’s major industrial zones and within easy reach of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the ICD is expected to play a critical role in strengthening regional supply chains.

With the addition of Malur, Adani Ports and SEZ continues to deepen its end-to-end logistics ecosystem, connecting port infrastructure with inland nodes to deliver seamless factory-to-port connectivity across India’s coastline and hinterland.
