Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has achieved a new milestone at its Kattupalli Port near Chennai, discharging a 35,000-metric-tonne soda ash consignment—the largest of its kind ever handled at an Indian port.

The record operation reinforces Kattupalli’s position as an emerging bulk cargo hub for South India, backed by mechanised handling systems, dedicated warehousing and strong multimodal connectivity to industries across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.

APSEZ said the achievement highlights the port’s efficiency in managing high-volume cargo flows. The smooth execution demonstrates Kattupalli’s capability to deliver speed and reliability for customers. The facility has become a key node in Adani’s broader strategy to scale up India’s maritime infrastructure and strengthen its integration into global supply chains.
