The Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB), under the Government of Gujarat, hosted the Maritime Investment Stakeholders Meet 2026 in Mumbai, bringing together senior industry leaders and stakeholders from across the ports, shipping, logistics and maritime infrastructure sectors to discuss opportunities for Gujarat’s next phase of maritime growth.
A key discussion at the event, Shashi Kiran Shetty highlighted the need to move beyond port infrastructure and develop integrated ecosystems around ports that can support trade, manufacturing, logistics, investment and employment. The discussion also emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between the government and private sector to unlock the next phase of maritime and port-led development.
He added, that land acquisition is an important consideration for infrastructure development and private sector participation. Greater government-led facilitation in this area can help private players focus on developing assets, improving operational efficiency and building sustainable businesses.
The Maritime Investment Stakeholders Meet 2026 reflects Gujarat’s continued focus on strengthening its maritime ecosystem and attracting investment across ports, shipbuilding, maritime industries and logistics. The initiative aims to bring global port developers, shipping and logistics companies, maritime industries and strategic investors into Gujarat’s next phase of maritime growth.
