The Western Region Chapter (WRC) of the Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India (AMTOI) successfully hosted its Networking & Fellowship Meet 2026 at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Chembur, bringing together leading professionals and stakeholders from across the logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, multimodal transport, warehousing, and supply chain sectors.
The event served as an important platform for industry members to strengthen professional relationships, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration in an increasingly dynamic logistics environment.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Sharmila Amin, Co-Convenor, AMTOI Western Region Chapter, highlighted the remarkable growth and evolution of the Western Region Chapter over the past few years. She noted that the chapter was established with the vision of creating a vibrant platform for industry professionals to connect, collaborate, and contribute collectively to the development of India’s logistics and multimodal transport ecosystem.
Dr. Amin expressed her appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of members and stakeholders and emphasized that the Western Region Chapter has emerged as one of the most active and dynamic chapters within AMTOI. She credited this success to the collective efforts of members, industry partners, and the chapter leadership. “The strength of our chapter lies in its diversity. Today, we bring together multimodal transport operators, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, warehouse operators, technology providers, and allied service partners. This diversity enables us to learn from each other, share experiences, and work together towards common industry objectives,” she said. She also acknowledged the leadership and contributions of Prashant Popat, Convenor, AMTOI Western Region Chapter; the AMTOI Managing Committee, and the chapter members whose commitment and support have played a key role in the chapter’s continued success. Addressing the changing landscape of the logistics sector, Dr. Amin noted that digital transformation, sustainability initiatives, infrastructure development, and evolving global trade patterns are reshaping supply chains worldwide. She stressed that industry growth depends not only on business performance but also on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual trust among stakeholders.
The networking meet provided participants with an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, strengthen existing relationships, build new business connections, and exchange perspectives on the future of logistics and multimodal transportation in India.
Following the formal proceedings, members and guests enjoyed an evening of fellowship over cocktails and dinner, providing a relaxed setting for networking and interaction among industry colleagues. The informal engagement further reinforced the spirit of cooperation and camaraderie that has become a hallmark of the AMTOI Western Region Chapter.
AMTOI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting industry growth through advocacy, stakeholder engagement, professional development, and initiatives aimed at enhancing India’s logistics competitiveness. The Association also reiterated its focus on encouraging greater participation of young professionals and fostering innovation within the sector. The evening concluded on a high note with members expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to connect with peers, exchange industry perspectives, and strengthen professional relationships within the logistics community.
