AP government plans to complete 4 new additional ports by December 2026

Officials have been instructed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to finish Phase 1 construction on the Kakinada Gateway Port and the ports of Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam, and Mulapeta by December of next year.

Additionally, Naidu gave them the deadline to finish phase 1 development of the fishing harbors at Juvvaladinne, Nizampatnam, Machilipatnam, and Uppada. The Chief Minister stated during a review meeting in Amaravati that ports and fishing harbours were “valuable” economic resources for the State and were to be operationalized as soon as possible.

He stated that the State government also intended to create a logistics firm. While Phase 1 of Ramayapatnam Port’s construction is currently at 64%, Machilipatnam Port’s construction is approximately 43% complete and should be finished by November of next year.

The government will begin phase 1 construction of new airports in Kuppam, Dagadarthi, Amaravati, and Srikakulam, as well as the expansion of state roads in accordance with traffic requirements and the integration of these roads with national highways through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Mulapeta Port and Kakinada Gateway Port have completed 46 percent and 29 percent of their respective projects.
