Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to establish a state logistics corporation to serve as the nodal agency for cargo movement across ports, airports, inland waterways, roads, and railways.
At a review meeting on infrastructure facilities in Amaravati, the Chief Minister said the proposed body would streamline shipment operations and support the state’s growing trade network.
Naidu noted that plans are underway to develop 20 new ports and airports in Andhra Pradesh, with satellite townships around these facilities to serve as hubs of economic activity. He added that several corporates have shown interest in setting up shipbuilding units in Machilipatnam, Mulapeta, and China Ganjam. Emphasising that the Centre has “no dearth of funds” for railway and national highway projects, Naidu instructed officials to prepare and submit proposals for central approval to accelerate economic development across various regions of the state.
