Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), Jordan’s premier container gateway, has welcomed the LNG-powered container vessel KOTA ODYSSEY on its maiden visit to the port. Operated by Singapore’s Pacific International Lines (PIL), the call strengthens Red Sea connectivity and sustainable shipping in the region.
KOTA ODYSSEY (IMO 9977878), built in 2025, measures 260m in length with a 46m beam and sails under the Singapore flag. As PIL’s LNG-fueled ship, it reduces emissions, sulfur oxides, and particulates compared to traditional fuels, aligning with global decarbonization goals.
The vessel recently marked its first Red Sea entry at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Gateway Terminal.
ACT, Jordan’s sole container terminal and Red Sea’s second-busiest by volume, serves 20+ top liners at the crossroads of three continents. This maiden call boosts ACT’s competitiveness, efficiency, and sustainability amid rising Middle East-Europe trade.Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), Jordan’s premier container gateway, has welcomed the LNG-powered container vessel KOTA ODYSSEY on its maiden visit to the port.
