Axis Solutions Limited has partnered with Government Engineering College Gandhinagar (GEC Gandhinagar) to establish an Industry Supported Lab in Instrumentation & Control (I&C), aimed at providing engineering students with practical exposure to industrial automation, instrumentation and control technologies.

The lab was inaugurated on September 9 as part of the collaboration between the industrial technology solutions provider and the engineering institution. Under the arrangement, Axis Solutions will contribute industrial, automation, analytical and instrumentation products and system solutions, while GEC Gandhinagar will provide the facility and supporting infrastructure.

Industry-supported lab to provide practical exposure

The new facility is intended to connect engineering education with industrial applications by giving students and faculty opportunities to work with technologies and systems used in industrial environments.

The initiative will also provide a platform for interaction between industry professionals and academia, with activities focused on practical learning, technology awareness and knowledge exchange.

Dr. Bijal Sanghvi, Managing Director, Axis Solutions Limited, said, “The next generation of engineers must be equipped to solve real industrial challenges, not just understand them in theory. This Centre of Excellence is our effort to bring industry closer to the classroom, giving students access to the technologies, applications and practical knowledge that will shape the future of instrumentation and automation. We see this as an investment in talent, innovation and the long-term growth of the industry.”

Programmes planned under the collaboration

The partnership is expected to support a range of industry-oriented programmes for students and faculty. These will include expert and subject matter expert sessions, Faculty Development Programmes, student internships and placement initiatives.

The programme will also cover skill development activities, industrial study tours and short-term continuing education programmes. These activities are intended to provide participants with exposure to industrial practices and emerging technologies in instrumentation, automation and control.

Focus on instrumentation and automation skills

The lab will focus on strengthening students’ understanding of Instrumentation & Control technologies and their applications in industrial settings. Practical exposure is expected to complement classroom-based learning by allowing students to engage with industrial products, systems and applications.

The collaboration will also facilitate knowledge sharing and applied learning involving academic expertise, research capabilities and Axis Solutions’ experience in industrial technologies.
