The cherished book on ship management practices, “WORLD CLASS SHIP MANAGER – in 4 weeks”, was released in Mumbai on February 18, 2017 at a function at the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) Head Office, by Capt. Anoop Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of SCI. The past CMD, Mr S. Hajara, also attended the release ceremony.

According to the two joint authors, Dr Abhijit Singh and Mr Mihir Das, both faculties at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, the book provides practical working guidance covering bulk and tanker voyages in the perspective of the ship management companies. The 800-plus page book has two sections—regular and advanced.

According to them, it will help ship management companies to save precious resources in training new managers and can also act as a refresher for mariners contemplating working ashore in the near future. It will be distributed through Amazon.

The release, incidentally, coincided with the Annual Convocation Ceremony of Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping. Dr Malini Shankar, Director-General of Shipping, was also presented with a copy during the ceremony.
