Cabinet approves Rail Development Authority

The Union Cabinet has approved the setting up of an overarching Rail Development Authority (RDA), an independent regulatory body.

The RDA will have powers for tariff determination, to set efficiency and performance standards for the railways, and ensure fair play and level playing field in the sector for stakeholder investments, including those of private players.[/vc_column_text]
