The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has initiated stakeholder consultation on the Draft Warehousing Operations Regulations, 2026. The draft regulations have been approved for placing in the public domain with a view to obtaining comments, views and suggestions from stakeholders.
As per F. No. 473/12/2026-LC dated September 21, 2026, CBIC has directed that the Draft Warehousing Operations Regulations, 2026 be uploaded on its website for public consultation. Stakeholders have been invited to submit their comments, views or suggestions within 15 days from the date of issuance of the letter.
For facilitating a focused and regulation-wise examination of stakeholder feedback, CBIC has prescribed a specific format for submission of suggestions. Stakeholders are required to provide the Regulation Number, Title of the Regulation, Proposed Modification(s), if any, and the corresponding Reasons, Remarks or Comments.
The suggestions, comments and views on the Draft Warehousing Operations Regulations, 2026 may be submitted to CBIC through email at the addresses specified in the communication. Submissions are required to be made in MS Word or compatible format, or in a machine-readable PDF format, thereby enabling efficient examination and processing of stakeholder representations.
CBIC has specifically stated that the matter may be treated as “most urgent,” indicating the Board’s intention to complete the stakeholder consultation process expeditiously before proceeding further with the proposed regulations.
