Whereas, after the outbreak of deadly global pandemic COVID-19, CFSAI, vide a Trade Advisory issued on 2nd April 2020, had informed all the concerned stakeholders in the EXIM Containerized trade that since the Ports and Terminals continue to function, in order to ensure that supply chain is not disrupted, all CFSAI Member CFSs, despite operational constraints and challenges, kept their facilities open.

Whereas, even in subsequent Lockdowns 2.0 and 3.0 announced by the Government, since EXIM Trade was greatly facilitated by JNPT, Adani Ports & SEZ, Custom Houses, Police, District Collectors and other authorities, our Member CFSs kept evacuating the containers from Terminals at JNPT, Mundra and Hazira and effected laden and de-stuffed import deliveries from their facilities. This was achieved by incentivizing and paying additional costs to TTs, drivers, labour, surveyors, equipment handlers and, additionally, providing them food and  shelter under best hygienic conditions to combat the pandemic COVID-19. It is pertinent to note that these endeavours have ensured in evacuation of over 168,000 TEUs at JNPT and 59,000 TEUs at Mundra by CFSs  and  giving import deliveries to the importers in the range of  101,000 TEUs and 43,000 TEUs at JNPT and Mundra, respectively, during the lockdown period till date.
