India’s strategic investment in Iran’s Chabahar Port remains secure, with the Indian-operated Shahid Beheshti terminal reporting no damage despite recent missile exchanges in the region. Operations continue uninterrupted, ensuring vital connectivity for Central Asian trade routes.
The India-funded terminal, developed under a 10-year agreement, has handled over 100,000 TEUs since 2018, serving as a bypass for Pakistan-denied access to Afghanistan and landlocked neighbors via the INSTC corridor.
Amid escalating West Asia tensions, Chabahar’s resilience underscores its geopolitical importance for India’s maritime outreach, with wheat, pulses, and machinery exports flowing steadily.
