A discussion is ongoing between the Chittagong Port and Gothenburg Port of Sweden to improve direct communication between the two ports and five countries in Scandinavia.
Reports claimed this adding the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden Mehdi Hasan had last month held a virtual meeting with all those involved in this matter.
The meeting was attended by private business representatives such as BGMI, shippers’ council, freight forwarders, representatives of ship owners as well as Government representatives, reportedly claimed Mehdi Hasan while speaking to the media.
From the Swedish side, senior officials from the Gothenburg Port reportedly attended the meeting. It may be mentioned here currently Bangladesh does not have direct ship movement with the five countries of the Scandinavian region.
