CMA CGM has announced fresh freight rate increases on its India–East Coast South America (ECSA) services, alongside a new port congestion surcharge on exports from Beira, Mozambique.

From 1 April 2026 (loading date), rates on the SAFRAN 1 and SIRIUS services from India and Pakistan to ECSA will rise by 300 dollars per 20-foot dry container and 200 dollars per 40-foot/40-foot high cube unit. The hike covers sailings from Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Hazira, Mangalore and Cochin, as well as Karachi and Port Qasim, to ECSA ports excluding Manaus, Fortaleza, Natal and Vila do Conde, and applies to dry and out‑of‑gauge cargo.

In parallel, CMA CGM has imposed a Beira Port Congestion Surcharge of 100 dollars per container on all cargo moving from Beira to Far East destinations, also effective 1 April 2026. The carrier said the adjustments are needed to maintain service reliability and manage operational pressures on the affected trade lanes.
