CMA CGM is reorganizing its container services linking India, the Middle East, and East Africa, effective March 2026, to optimize schedules, boost port coverage, and enhance reliability amid growing trade volumes.
The upgraded KARIBU service gains direct calls at India’s Mundra and Cochin, plus enhanced frequency to Mombasa and Dar es Salaam, while integrating former SWAHILI routes for streamlined connectivity to Tanzania and Mozambique ports like Nacala and Beira.
Indian ports including Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Cochin, and Chennai will benefit from faster transits to East African hubs such as Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar, supporting exports like textiles, pharmaceuticals, and machinery alongside reefer cargo.
This reshuffle reflects CMA CGM’s strategy to meet rising bilateral trade demands under India-Africa economic corridors, improving vessel utilization and customer transit times from Indian west coast gateways.CMA CGM is reorganizing its container services linking India, the Middle East, and East Africa, effective March 2026, to optimize schedules, boost port coverage, and enhance reliability amid growing trade volumes.
