State-owned logistics major Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has revived a key export corridor from Chhattisgarh by moving a rake of containerised rice from its ICD MMLP Naya Raipur terminal to Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT) at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT). The move is seen as a significant boost to central India’s rail-linked export logistics and port connectivity.

The rake comprised 48 wagons carrying 96 twenty-foot containers loaded with export-bound rice, marking the resumption of this corridor after a prolonged gap. The service is expected to strengthen export options for agro-processors and traders across Raipur and the wider Chhattisgarh region by providing a direct rail route to India’s premier container gateway on the west coast.

According to CONCOR, the movement opens a renewed avenue for exporters to access global markets through BMCT at JNPT, improving supply chain efficiency and reducing logistics bottlenecks. The shipment was facilitated in coordination with shipping line Maersk Line and exporters such as Sripriya Venture, AGS Food, Devratan Food, Star Agrico and Vijay Food, with customs processes handled by R & Y Logistics.
