The China Ship Design & Research Center (CSDC) and Germany’s TECHNOLOG Services have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at advancing green and intelligent shipbuilding. Under the partnership, the two companies will focus on four core areas: joint research and development, integration of complementary design expertise, collaborative market expansion, and incubation of innovative products.
By combining CSDC’s domestic R&D strength with TECHNOLOG’s global experience, the collaboration seeks to accelerate technological progress in shipbuilding and offshore engineering. Plans include tapping into the global vessel market, sharing customer resources and industry networks, and co-developing products that meet international standards—particularly in areas such as green shipping and intelligent marine structures.
CSDC specializes in ship design and green technologies, with national-level expertise in large commercial and specialized vessels, and plays a role in major national research projects. TECHNOLOG, a maritime design and consulting firm, is known for its expertise in alternative propulsion solutions—including methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, LNG, and battery systems—as well as hull optimization, wind-assisted propulsion, waste heat recovery, and full-cycle technical support.
The partnership aligns with the IMO 2050 decarbonization targets, supporting the use of alternative green fuels and advancing sustainable shipping under the “dual carbon” strategy.
