Chattogram Port handled a record 3.52 million TEUs in FY2025-26, along with new highs in cargo volume and vessel traffic, underscoring the continued strength of Bangladesh’s busiest seaport. The port also posted higher revenue and improved operational efficiency, reflecting stronger trade flows and smoother terminal performance.

According to Chattogram Port Authority data, container handling rose to 3,518,841 TEUs in FY26, up 6.76% from 3,296,067 TEUs in the previous fiscal year. Cargo throughput reached 138,072,826 tonnes, while vessel handling also climbed, helping the port maintain “zero waiting time” at the outer anchorage.

Revenue performance was equally strong, with the port reporting record income and surplus figures for the fiscal year. Officials said the port’s average container ship stay time declined, which lowered operating costs for shipping lines and supported faster import-export movement.

The improvement in throughput comes despite broader trade headwinds, showing that the port has continued to expand capacity and operational discipline. The new performance benchmarks reinforce Chattogram Port’s role as the country’s main gateway for international trade.
