Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT), the modern container terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, Tuticorin, has announced a major operational milestone with the successful handling of its largest EXIM transshipment parcel to date.
In a statement issued on 8 December 2025, the terminal confirmed that the vessel M.V. Mila 3 handled a total of 1,969 TEUs during its call. This included 385 twenty-foot EXIM containers meant for transshipment from Tamatave Port to New Mangalore Port, which were efficiently discharged at DBGT.
The vessel arrived on 7 December at 1200 hrs, berthed at 1345 hrs, and departed on 8 December at 0825 hrs following the smooth and timely completion of all operations.
DBGT noted that this accomplishment reinforces its emergence as a growing transshipment hub on India’s East Coast. The terminal anticipates a steady rise in such cargo movements in the months ahead.
Expressing gratitude, DBGT acknowledged the dedicated efforts of its workforce and the support of the shipping community and the Port Authority, which enabled the successful completion of this significant operation.
