Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal Pvt Ltd (DBGT), the container terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, has crossed the 5 million TEU handling mark since the start of its operations, marking a key milestone in its growth trajectory.

The terminal said the achievement, reached on March 10, 2026, reflects its focus on operational excellence, efficiency and customer-centric service, backed by sustained support from VOC Port Authority, shipping lines, logistics partners and the wider EXIM community. DBGT credited the dedication of its workforce and the confidence of trade partners for building its reputation as a reliable gateway for containerised cargo in southern India.

To celebrate the landmark, the terminal organised activities including a cake-cutting ceremony, quiz competition and tree-planting drive, underlining teamwork and its commitment to sustainable growth. Strategically located at India’s southern maritime gateway, DBGT said it will continue investing in infrastructure, technology and process improvements to expand capacity, sharpen turnaround times and support rising container trade volumes.
