The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) will see the construction of a new cargo city spanning 50.5 acres by GMR Airports Ltd. through its subsidiary Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). The project will greatly increase the airport’s capacity for cargo and logistics, and also includes a 10-acre optional land piece for future development.

A regulatory filing states that DIAL has sent a Letter of Intent to Award the project to GMR Airports. With a 30-year extension option, the corporation will be in charge of the facility’s design, construction, finance, and management through 2036.

The initiative and DIAL will work together on a revenue-sharing basis. For the first term of the deal, GMR Airports would offer a minimum monthly guarantee, projected to be ₹415.74 crore. With all necessary regulatory clearances in place, the transaction was carried out at arm’s length and has been categorized as a related-party transaction.
