The first private Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) in India was opened by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) on its Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), which is located close to Surat, Gujarat. The Sawariya Shakti Group is in charge of developing the New Sanjali Terminal, which is about 120 acres in size. In accordance with Schedule-1 of the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) strategy, which encourages private investment in vital logistical infrastructure, it was constructed on private property. The terminal is ideally situated to offer smooth access to Gujarat’s main industrial centers, such as Panoli Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Ankleshwar, and Jhagadia, the business said in its statement. Additionally, it provides essential connections to important ports including Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), Dahej, and Hazira, improving the effectiveness of regional and national trade.

The projected Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) is only six kilometers away, and it would offer direct access to National Highway-48 and National Expressway-4, guaranteeing easy road movements.  A sprawling 28-acre Inland Container Depot (ICD), two Receipt & Dispatch lines connected to both DFCCIL and Indian Railways’ main network, and 650,000 square feet of warehousing infrastructure—including a 54,000-square-foot bonded warehouse, PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization)-certified storage, and cold chain facilities—are also included in the terminal. According to officials, this completely integrated logistics complex is expected to drastically increase the effectiveness of freight handling, shorten turnaround times, and save operating expenses for companies.
