DP World Executive Chairman H.E. Essa Kazim has made his first visit to India in his current role, meeting senior officials at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and discussing opportunities for further collaboration in port infrastructure, logistics and trade.
Kazim was accompanied by DP World Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan and members of the company’s Global Board of Directors during the visit on October 7, 2026.
DP World, JNPA discuss future collaboration
During the visit, Kazim and the DP World delegation met Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairman of JNPA, and Ravish Kumar, IRTS, Deputy Chairman of JNPA. The discussions covered the companies’ nearly three-decade association and potential areas for future cooperation.
The relationship dates back to the concession agreement for Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT), which contributed to the development of India’s public-private partnership model in port infrastructure.
The latest discussions included potential collaboration on the development of Vadhavan Port and additional investment in the JNPA Special Economic Zone.
The engagement comes as India continues to expand port capacity and logistics infrastructure to support growing domestic and international trade.

Nhava Sheva Business Park Phase 2 adds 1 million sq ft
During the visit, Kazim and Narayan also inaugurated Phase 2 of DP World’s Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP).
The first phase of NSBP covers 44 acres and provides one million square feet of warehousing space. Phase 2 spans an additional 42 acres and adds another one million square feet of warehousing capacity.
DP World said the second phase represents an investment of approximately ₹500 crore ($52 million).
The expanded facility forms part of DP World’s wider logistics infrastructure at Nhava Sheva, linking port operations with container freight stations, rail connectivity, warehousing and Free Trade Warehousing Zone capabilities.
DP World outlines integrated logistics strategy
The company said the expanded logistics network is intended to provide customers with connected supply chain services covering cargo handling, storage and inland movement.
The development is also aimed at addressing changing requirements across domestic and international trade, with additional warehousing capacity providing greater flexibility for cargo management and distribution.
Commenting on the visit and the company’s commitment to India, H.E. Essa Kazim, Executive Chairman, DP World, said: “India is a strategic partner in DP World’s global growth journey, and we see significant opportunities to contribute to the country’s ambitions as a leading global trading nation. Our commitment goes beyond investing in infrastructure; it is about building enduring partnerships, strengthening connectivity and creating integrated supply chain solutions that enable Indian businesses to compete more effectively in global markets. The expansion of Nhava Sheva Business Park reflects our confidence in India’s long-term potential and our continued focus on meeting the evolving needs of our customers. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with government and industry partners to support India’s growth and unlock new opportunities for trade.”
What does DP World’s Nhava Sheva expansion include?
The expansion at Nhava Sheva adds one million square feet of warehousing capacity through Phase 2 of the Nhava Sheva Business Park. Combined with Phase 1, the business park now provides two million square feet of warehousing space across 86 acres.
The development is part of DP World’s strategy to integrate port, rail, warehousing and other logistics services within a connected infrastructure network at Nhava Sheva.
The company’s latest discussions with JNPA also indicate potential areas for further investment and cooperation, including Vadhavan Port and the JNPA Special Economic Zone.
