SailG’s F50 catamarans have been shipped to Southampton by DP World, the league’s first comeback to the UK in three years. On July 19, the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix is scheduled to start in Portsmouth. The delivery reached DP World Southampton, which wants to be the first net-zero port in the United Kingdom. All of the terminal’s machinery now runs on HVO fuel, reducing emissions by more than 80%.
The fleet and equipment were moved to Portsmouth in order to be ready for the race after they arrived in Southampton. After improving its Black Sea operations, DP World recently cut transit times between Romania and Turkey by 50%. By adding a RoRo terminal and a logistics hub in western Romania, the business has expanded container capacity at Constanța Port, the biggest port in Romania on the Black Sea.
