DPA Kandla completes full rollout of enterprise business system

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has achieved a major digital milestone with the successful commissioning of all modules of its Enterprise Business System (EBS), marking the port’s complete transition to an integrated, technology-driven operating platform.

The system went fully live on Thursday in the presence of DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh and Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta, along with senior officials from the port authority, the EBS implementation team and technology partner Tech Mahindra.

According to the port authority, the end-to-end deployment of EBS is expected to lower transaction costs, improve real-time visibility across port operations and logistics chains, and significantly enhance ease of doing business for port users, shipping lines and other stakeholders. The integrated platform is designed to streamline processes, improve data accuracy and enable faster decision-making.

The development builds on the port’s broader modernisation drive. Earlier, on December 15, 2025, Vijay Kumar, Secretary at the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), visited Deendayal Port Authority in Gujarat, where he was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by the CISF unit at the port.

During the visit, Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh presented an overview of the port’s recent performance, highlighting operational improvements, cargo handling achievements and a pipeline of ongoing and planned infrastructure projects focused on capacity expansion, efficiency gains and sustainability.

The MoPSW Secretary commended the port for its steady growth and underlined its strategic importance in supporting India’s maritime trade and logistics network.

A key outcome of the visit was the inauguration and foundation-laying of several major development projects at the port, involving a combined investment of ₹193 crore. These initiatives are expected to strengthen port infrastructure and significantly improve cargo movement and turnaround times, reinforcing Kandla’s role as a critical gateway for India’s west coast trade.
