Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has been honoured with the prestigious Sagar Aankalan Award as the Best Performing Port under the category “Handling of Container Cargo – Less than 0.5 Million TEUs” for FY 2024–25. The award was presented by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal during a ceremony held in Mumbai on May 30, 2026, recognising outstanding operational performance across India’s maritime sector.
On behalf of DPA, the award was received by Nilabhra Dasgupta, IRS, Deputy Chairman of Deendayal Port Authority. The recognition highlights DPA Kandla’s sustained commitment to operational excellence, efficient container cargo handling and continuous improvement in port performance.
The Sagar Aankalan award is part of the benchmarking and performance evaluation framework for India’s major ports, aimed at driving operational efficiency and service quality. DPA Kandla, one of the premier major ports in India, is expected to continue building on this momentum to strengthen its position in container cargo handling and overall port operations.
