The Singapore-flagged container ship Ever Lovely was struck by an unknown projectile near Oman in the Strait of Hormuz, causing damage to the bridge but no reported casualties or environmental impact.
According to maritime security reports, the vessel was hit about 7.5 nautical miles southeast of Dahit, in Oman’s Musandam region, while transiting the strait. British maritime security firm Vanguard identified the ship as Ever Lovely, and ship-tracking data showed it continued through the strait after the incident.
The attack came hours after Iranian authorities warned vessels against using routes not approved by Tehran, deepening concerns over shipping safety in the corridor.
The incident also prompted the United Nations’ maritime agency to pause a planned evacuation effort for seafarers in the area until safety assurances are reconfirmed.
