The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has joined hands with Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) to establish the FedEx SMART Centre (Supply Chain Modelling, Algorithms, Research and Technology Centre), aimed at building sustainable and technology-driven logistics solutions.

Supported by a $5 million grant from FedEx, the Centre will integrate cutting-edge research, digital tools, and industry expertise to reimagine supply chain management.

Key focus areas include carbon-neutral operations, autonomous delivery systems, EV infrastructure, predictive analytics, and AI-powered worker safety. Beyond research, the SMART Centre will seek to create nationwide impact through internships, talent development, and collaborative projects.
