Russia’s FESCO Transport Group has expanded capacity on its FESCO Indian Line West (FIL‑W) service by almost 20%, reinforcing container links between Novorossiysk, India, the Middle East and the Red Sea region. The upgrade follows deployment of a larger vessel to replace one of the smaller ships on the loop; the new ship is already on its maiden voyage from Jebel Ali to Novorossiysk with import cargo.
Two other FESCO container vessels, together offering more than 2,000 TEU of slots, continue on the FIL‑W route, ensuring higher and more stable weekly capacity. Launched in 2023, the service connects Novorossiysk with Nhava Sheva and Mundra, as well as Jebel Ali and Jeddah, and moved over 19,000 TEU in 2025, up 16% year‑on‑year with export loads at about 8,000 TEU and imports exceeding 11,000 TEU.
The additional capacity is expected to support growing trade flows between Russia, South Asia and the Middle East and improve service reliability for shippers on the corridor.
