According to the previous plan, the ship’s arrival was expected on October 4. “As per the earlier schedule, the ship had commenced its journey from China on August 31, 2023. It was said that the ship would reach here on October 4. But due to some delays in the sea, there is a slight delay in reaching here. Instead, the ship would reach Vizhinjam port at 4pm, Sunday on October 15,” the minister said.

The ship was expected to reach the Mundra port in Gujarat on September 20 after travelling 6,000 nautical miles via Shanghai, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Malacca and Colombo. The average speed of the ship is 11 nautical mile per hour. However, due to typhoons in Shanghai, Vietnam and Singapore, the ship could take the speed of only three to five nautical miles per hour.

When the ship reaches the Vizhinjam port, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and union minister for shipping Sarbananda Sonowal would receive it at the port.
