Freightos has broadened its digital logistics footprint, extending its well-established air cargo platform to include ocean freight. The Nasdaq-listed logistics technology provider announced the launch of WebCargo Rate & Quote Ocean, a fully integrated solution for ocean freight forwarders that brings together pricing, quoting, and booking on a single digital platform.
The new system marks a significant milestone in Freightos’ vision to unify air and ocean freight management. Building on its leadership in air cargo rate automation, the company now enables forwarders to seamlessly manage rates, generate quotes, and book shipments with major ocean carriers through one interface—eliminating the traditional fragmentation between air and sea freight systems.
During beta testing, WebCargo Rate & Quote Ocean handled thousands of ocean freight quotes from several carriers and LCL consolidators. Early users reported quote times up to 75% faster, replacing what was once a cumbersome, manual process involving multiple spreadsheets and disconnected tools.
The expansion comes at a time when freight forwarders and shippers are demanding faster, more transparent, and more reliable rate management solutions to navigate volatile global trade conditions. Freightos’ WebCargo network, which already processes over 1.6 million transactions annually in air freight, is now set to deliver similar automation and efficiency benefits to ocean logistics.
By integrating ocean freight capabilities, Freightos aims to streamline workflows across multiple transport modes. Forwarders can now centralize rate data, local charges, and booking tools within one connected system that also integrates with leading transport management systems (TMS)—creating a continuous, automated process from rate search to booking confirmation.
