GAIL (India) Limited, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) and DNV (Det Norske Veritas) have signed a Tripartite Cooperation Agreement to explore the setting up of an LNG bunkering facility at Kandla Port.

The agreement brings together GAIL’s expertise in LNG, DPA’s strategic port infrastructure and DNV’s global technical expertise in maritime safety and LNG bunkering. The collaboration will focus on developing LNG bunkering infrastructure, supply chains, safety frameworks and an operational ecosystem at Kandla.

The initiative is aimed at supporting the adoption of cleaner marine fuels and contributing to India’s vision of greener and more sustainable shipping.

The agreement was signed by Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority; Anant Khobragade, ZCGM, Gujarat Zonal Office; and Ajay Kumar Singh, Business Lead, Marine Advisory, DNV India.

The collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening India’s clean-fuel maritime infrastructure and promoting sustainable shipping at one of the country’s key ports.
