GNSS-based toll collection pilot project

Global navigation satellite system (GNSS)-based toll collection system will be piloted on selected highways. It will complement the existing FASTag system. The system will initially be tested on the Bengaluru-Mysore section of NH-275 in Karnataka and the Panipat-Hisar section of NH-709 in Haryana.

The Road Ministry has master plan to enhance logistics through expressways and high-speed highways under the PM Gatishakti Framework. This plan utilizes transportation models and data analysis from e-way bills, toll collections, and traffic surveys.
