Goa will host a key workshop on coastal maritime governance as part of India’s Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, focusing on sustainable development, port efficiency, and coastal community empowerment.
The event, organised under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, aims to align state-level strategies with the national blueprint for world-class ports, green shipping, and seamless logistics by 2047. Discussions will cover coastal regulation, infrastructure upgrades, and blue economy initiatives to boost trade and livelihoods along India’s 7,500-km coastline.
Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 builds on Maritime India Vision 2030, targeting Rs 80 lakh crore in investments, 1.5 crore jobs, and leadership in global shipbuilding through mega ports, inland waterways, and green fuels like hydrogen.
Stakeholders from shipping lines, port authorities, and local fisheries expect actionable outcomes to enhance Goa’s maritime hub status, including better connectivity to major ports like JNPT and Mormugao.
