The Gujarat government has approved infrastructure projects worth ₹7,737 crore to strengthen and modernise the state’s road network under the Viksit Gujarat Mission. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel cleared the proposals, which cover 124 projects designed to improve connectivity, safety, and transport efficiency across the state.

A major share of the funding — ₹5,576 crore — will go towards constructing nine Garvi Gujarat High-Speed Corridors spanning a total of 809 km. These corridors, developed under the PM Gati Shakti framework, aim to ease traffic congestion, improve logistics, and provide faster, safer travel on key routes.

Among the major corridors approved are:

  • Bagodara–Dhandhuka–Barwala–Botad (₹67.43 crore)
  • Unjha–Patan–Shihori–Deodar–Bhabhar (₹858.39 crore)
  • Dehgam–Bayad–Lunawada–Santrampur–Zalod (₹1,514.41 crore)
  •

Additional routes include Ahmedabad–Harsol–Gambhoi–Vijayanagar, Santrampur–Morwa Hadaf–Santroad, and Santroad–Devgadh Baria–Chhota Udepur.

To enhance road longevity and sustainability, ₹1,147 crore has been allocated for 20 climate-resilient and technology-driven projects covering 271 km. These will deploy advanced construction methods such as white topping, geo-grid and glass grid reinforcement, cement stabilisation, and the use of fly ash and waste plastic.

Another ₹986 crore has been set aside for 79 projects to upgrade the surface quality of 803 km of existing roads.

The state’s 2025 budget proposed 12 new high-speed corridors under the Garvi Gujarat initiative — nine of which have now been approved. Once completed, these corridors are expected to reduce travel time, enhance logistics efficiency, boost tourism, and drive economic growth across Gujarat.
