Hong Kong Maritime Week (HKMW) 2025 will kick off on November 16, bringing a week-long programme of activities that showcases the city’s strengths as a global maritime centre. Running until November 22, the event will feature more than 50 activities curated by over 70 international, Mainland Chinese and local organisations.
Now in its ninth edition since its debut in 2016, HKMW 2025 marks a significant milestone as the first edition to be held under the newly established Maritime & Port Development Board (MPDB), which came into operation on July 1 this year.
Under the theme “Navigating to a Greener Future” and the tagline “Propel Hong Kong”, the event will convene policymakers, leaders of international maritime bodies, industry experts and practitioners to explore emerging trends, sustainability pathways and strategic priorities shaping the global maritime sector.
The programme includes a dynamic mix of flagship forums, executive-level seminars and community outreach initiatives. Key highlights include the opening ceremony, the MPDB Flagship Session, the World Maritime Merchants Forum 2025, the Asian Logistics, Maritime & Aviation Conference, and the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) Annual Convention 2025, which will be hosted in Hong Kong for the first time.
Public engagement activities will also take centre stage, with the Hong Kong Maritime Museum offering a Free Family Fun Day. In addition, exclusive televised interviews with MPDB Chairman Moses Cheng and HKMW Task Force Chairman Wellington Koo will air on TVB Jade at around 7:30 pm on November 17 and 18.
To further amplify the event’s reach, a series of short promotional videos will be released across social media platforms, highlighting Hong Kong’s continued prominence as an international maritime hub.
