Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) declared that Heritage River Journeys Private Limited, which conducts business under the Antara River Cruises name, has placed a significant order with its fully owned subsidiary, Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (Hooghly CSL), worth between ₹100 crore and ₹250 crore.
In order to increase premium inland waterway tourism in India, the contract calls for the construction of two opulent river cruise ships that will be deployed on the Brahmaputra River. A Letter of Intent (LOI) has been issued for the second vessel, and the first deal has been formally signed.
Currently operating a fleet of custom luxury cruise ships, Antara River Cruises is well-known for its immersive journeys along the Ganga, Padma, and Brahmaputra river systems. These rivers are among the most famous in South Asia.
The world’s longest and most beautiful river tour is provided by its flagship ship, the Ganga Vilas. The Limca Book of Records is a renowned example of this epic journey, which spans over 3,200 kilometers across 27 rivers and passes through a variety of landscapes, including the Brahmaputra Valley, the Sundarbans, and the Gangetic plains.
According to Cochin Shipyard, none of its promoters or group firms have any stake in the awarding organization, therefore the order does not come within related party transactions.
