European intermodal network operator Hupac has announced the launch of a new connection between Antwerp, Belgium and Duisburg, Germany.

Starting from 12 December, the new train service between Antwerp Combinant terminal and two Duisburg terminals – DKT and DIT – will run three times per week and direction.

According to Hupac, this line will be a new stable and reliable solution between Antwerp and two main hubs in central Germany, Schkopau and Schwarzheide, via Duisburg DIT.

Additionally, there will be an increased frequency between Antwerp and various destinations in southeast Europe such as Vienna in Austria, Budapest in Hungary, Ploiesti in Romania, Pancevo in Serbia, Stara Zagora in Bulgaria and Halkali in Turkey.

Furthermore, Hupac said it will increase the frequency of the Rotterdam CldN-Pordenone route from three to five roundtrips per week.

As of week 50/2022, a new timetable will be implemented for the current shuttle train Rotterdam CldN <=> Pordenone, according to a statement. As of week 3/2023, the frequency will increase from three to five roundtrips per week for this connection.
