The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) convened the 23rd National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board meeting on November 10, 2025, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The session brought together key stakeholders from the maritime and aviation sectors to strengthen coordination and enhance India’s maritime search and rescue (SAR) framework.

Chaired by Director General S. Paramesh, Director General of the Indian Coast Guard and Chairperson of the NMSAR Board, the meeting focused on advancing inter-agency collaboration, integrating emerging technologies, and improving communication systems to boost operational readiness and maritime safety standards.

Through interactive discussions and presentations, participants shared insights and best practices aimed at reinforcing India’s collective capability to ensure safe and secure maritime operations.
