IKEA Supply has become one of the first major cargo owners to join DCSA+, the Digital Container Shipping Association’s new collaboration platform focused on advancing digital standards across the container logistics ecosystem.
DCSA+ brings together a broad community of stakeholders — including carriers, freight forwarders, ports, and technology providers — to harmonise digital processes and boost end-to-end transparency. With IKEA now part of the programme, the initiative gains a strong cargo-owner voice that is expected to add depth to ongoing standardisation efforts.
IKEA has long worked with global coalitions, industry bodies, and NGOs to drive systemic improvements in supply chains. The company believes that collaborative models are essential for reshaping industry practices, as they ensure solutions reflect the needs of diverse stakeholders. In line with this approach, IKEA plans to encourage more cargo owners to participate in DCSA+ to unlock broader benefits for the logistics sector and end consumers.
The move aligns with IKEA’s broader strategy to make its maritime logistics operations more transparent, automated, and efficient by adopting common digital frameworks and technologies.
